Mountain Hardwear PCT 1 TentA hoop tent is, by its very nature, lighter than a dome tent, so maybe it is not so surprising to find that the PCT 1 Tent is well under 4 pounds. Though you can find solo tents that are under 3 pounds, the PCT 1 can withstand exceptionally strong weather, is a bit roomier with the head room and shoulder space than most solo tents (important for tall folks), and has two vestibules, offering a bit more storage space than the standard one-person tent. Atlas Floating pole connectors are lighter than traditional poles but provide greater strength, allow for more pole flex with less stress at the joints and can be fixed in the field without the use of tools. Stretching out a full 84 inches, the tent shrugs off rain with the lightweight narrow webbing rainfly and is a relatively quick pitch using between four and a maximum of ten stakes.
