Without a floor, you can do several things in the Megamid that you can't do in a regualar tent: you can spill coffee on accident, you can let your dog come inside (!), and you can leave your boots on. Not only that, the time-tested and popular Megamid weighs only 3 1/2 pounds and since it has no floor, it can be pitched over a snow-pit or rocky ground, places where other tents have trouble . A net-covered vent at the top of the door encourages air flow, while weather flaps around the door increase the Megamid’s storm resistance. The optional bathtub-style detachable floor (sold separately) keeps water out, yet only adds one pound and four ounces!
