2006 Ohio RV Supershow Celebrates 30 Years as Largest Indoor RV Show in the Country

Cleveland, OH - The Great Lakes Recreational Vehicle Association's Ohio RV Supershow, sponsored by FirstMerit Bank, America's largest indoor recreational vehicle show, will celebrate 30 years of providing the latest models of RVs, including the all-new Wild Thing, the ultimate Toy Hauler, and fun for families, January 4-8, 2006 at the I-X Center in Cleveland.

Attendees can walk through the all-new Feature Section, which will showcase a 1954 Shasta Trailer.  Attendees will be amazed at just how far RVing has improved over the years. The all-new Wild Thing makes its debut in the Feature Section.  This low profile, ultra-lite Toy Hauler is different than previous models.  The Wild Thing is low to the ground and is equipped with an electric bed and sofa system that slides to the ceiling making it easily accessible to drive a motorcycle, snowmobile or four-wheeler directly into the cargo area.  Don't miss the $300,000+ motor home loaded with state-of-the-art innovations and amenities.

Attendees at the 30th annual Ohio RV Supershow will also see roomier aisles as the show uses the entire main show floor - 800,000 square feet -- of the I-X Center.  The newest models of more than 800 RVs will be showcased including tent campers, travel trailers, fifth wheels and motor homes ranging from as low as $5,000 up to well over $300,000.  This show truly has something for everyone.

"Families will continue to discover the freedom and flexibility of traveling in a RV at our show, which is the largest indoor one of its kind in the country, providing an opportunity for the attendees to see and learn about all the different RV choices all under one roof," said Bruce Wolfson, president of the Great Lakes RV Association.

Attendees will learn and gather RV-related information at the Campground and RV Supplier Area filled with over 100 campgrounds, sporting vacation areas and RV clubs and organizations from Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, West Virginia and Florida.

Learn from the experts at daily seminars from show favorites and former Findlay-area couple Ed and Gloria Helmuth, who have spent 12 years as full-time RVers.  They will provide talks which include: Is Full-time RVing for You?, Adding Adventure to RVing, Support Services for RVers, and Stretching Your Travel Dollars.  "Our RV traveling goal is to hit all 50 states and visit all the national parks and monuments in the country," said Gloria Helmuth.  "So far we've visited and RVed in all 50 states.  We've motor homed on six continents, visited all seven of the continents, and have been to over 100 countries."

For the first time at the show is Al Hesselbart, RV Historian.  He will present the 1954 Shasta Trailer and a seminar on One Hundred Years of RVs in America, which will show snapshots of the growth and development of the RV industry throughout its first 100 years.  Hesselbart, also is a RV industry historian consultant to The NY Times, Smithsonian Institute, Associated Press and many other news periodicals.  He also has appeared as RV Historian on documentaries on Travel Channel, Home and Garden Channel, RVTV, Discovery and History channels.  Hesselbart's seminar is Friday through Sunday.

Weekend family entertainment abounds at the show.  A special favorite is back yet again - The Hastily Assembled Bluegrass Band.  Toes will be tapping to their feel-good tradition of acoustic music on guitar, mandolin, upright bass, Dobro, fiddle, and banjo.  Back by popular demand is "Kelvis,"as he gets things shakin' at this year's show with his Elvis impersonation.  Next, is local singing sensation Logan Wells. Logan has been singing professionally for almost a decade and most recently sang as a headliner at the Las Vegas Hilton main showroom and at Mandalay Bay during the Country Music Awards.  There's something for the entire family to enjoy!

The Great Lakes Recreational Vehicle Association (GLRVA), which is a trade organization in Northeast Ohio, hosts the 30th Annual Ohio RV Supershow.
